I laugh as I open up this post to publish.  I tried to finish it last night while working downstairs on the sofa while the family went to sleep.   Well…all of a sudden I woke up at 2am.  I passed out so hard.  Best part…I feel asleep on a crotchet pillow for atleast 3 hours.  I think I can still see sleep marks on the left side of my face.  #exhustion #momlife

This dress makes a statement all on it’s own!  I love the chic print and shift style (looser) fit.  I’m wearing a regular bra with it…this is such an easy dress to just throw on.  It is made out of silk so I would just be a little extra careful with it.  I wore my new favorite pair of nude shoes that will elongate your legs…added a couple layering necklaces, oversized sunnies, handbag and good to go!  I wore this for our 3rd day in New York city for fashion week.   My hubby “tech Jeff ” and I went to a few shows on Day 3, stopped to get afternoon cocktails and really tried to slow down the pace on that Day.  We knew we had to fly out the following morning…so we really tried to be present and enjoy the energy of this beautiful city.  I heart New York!

FYI:  This dress runs true to size. Wearing the Xs here.

Happy Tuesday!  How is it only Tuesday?  Anyone else feel like it should be later in the week?  I went to Kaaboo this past weekend with my friend Sara on the air-a!  Stayed up way too late, ate too much fried food and wasn’t very kind to my liver.  But I have to say it was well worth it.  We saw Ice Cube, Pink & a few other bands in concert…and they did not disappoint.  Kaaboo is a 3 day music festival in Del Mar, CA.  I’ve never been to Coachella….but I would guess that Kaaboo is the yuppy version.  I’ve always liked Pink…but after seeing her Live…I’m obsessed.  She’s so cool, down to earth and gives an amazing performance.  I even got emotional at the end of one of her songs.  Like…tears coming down my face.   It was triggered by her lyrics and there was also this girl right in front of us at the concert who got super emotional.  You never know what people are going through.  Everyone has a story.  After the song… Sara and I put our hands on her shoulder and gave her a smile.

This bell sleeve thermal has Stylin all over it….lol.  It’s casual and comfy, runs true to size.  I’m wearing the XS.  It comes in another colorway too.  And I love that it is under $40!  I styled it here with distressed blue jeans, leopard flat slides, bracelet bag and oversized sunnies.

One of the best weekends ever!

If you’re not much for camping but love nature I would definitely recommend “glamping” at Santa Barbara’s beautiful El Capitan Canyon.  It’s about 15 minutes north of downtown SB and just a 10 min walk or 2 min car ride down to the beach.  We stayed in one of their Queen cabins.  It has a queen bed, night stands, kitchen area, bathroom (with warm water and shower!)…and a toilet.  I mean how luxurious is that when camping?!  There is also a loft area that has 2 twin mattresses.  You need to climb a ladder to get up top…so I wouldn’t recommend that area for really young kids.

For meals you can either bbq at your campsite or walk down to their canyon market place.  They have a great menu there for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  One of my favorite meals there was the chicken Nachos paired with a cold bottle of Stella Beer.  They also have a gift shop with all the essentials.  From paper plates to havianna flip flops…they have you covered.

We enjoyed a hike one of the days…and it lead up to their lama farm.  They had goats, sheep and other farm animals.  I got to hold one of the baby goats.   He was soooo cute!

We also enjoyed their concert/BBQ under the stars.  They had a live band, great food and dancing on their lawn.  That was one of my favorite memories there.  It was so fun dancing with my kids, swing’n them around under the warm night sky.

They also have a beautiful, super clean pool.  It’s heated too!  That definitely plays into the glamping” experience.

Thanks for stopping by today!  You can get more info on El Capitan here.

If you’re looking for a pullover/sweater for Fall that has a little detail to it…you might love this one!  (also available here)

This top comes in a few color options…and love them all!  I’m wearing the xs here.  I usually like to size up with sweaters but would not recommend that with this one.  I love the arm tie details!  I’m sharing 2 different ways I like to tie the arms.  Please see below for my tips!

    .

    .

    T i e  # 1

This option above is my personal favorite.

First lay the sleeve out flat…then do a double tie and pull it out until the width of the tie matches the width of the sleeve.   This way is looser and I prefer the feel and fit.

    T i e # 2

This is the same as above just tighter…however it gives a different look.  Not only will the ties be hanging longer in length…but it will also makes the sleeve length a little shorter and more adjustable.  You can pull it up on your arm…which is always nice.

What to pack for fashion week?????   Well let me start off by saying that attending NYFW has been a dream of mine since I was a little girl.   Last year was my first year…and I remember my first show so vividly.  I was trying so hard to hold back tears.  It was such a pinch me, surreal moment and I felt so proud to be there.   This year was just as amazing but I did feel more relaxed (in a good way).  I’ll admit…Last year I was a fashion week rookie and pretended I knew what I was doing.  But by the second runway show I was asking security how I could make my way to the front row.  And yay…it worked.  I’m definitely in my element when in NYC… especially for fashion week.  I’m so thankful for my parents to watch our kids so my husband Jeff (aka…”Tech Jeff”) could join me again this year!   Our goal for Fashion week 2017 was to be more present and slow down the pace.  I’ll admit that is pretty hard to do with back to back meetings, shows, 20 min cab rides…and a girls gotta eat and shop too.   But even if it was just for a 1/2 hour a day…Jeff and I stopped for a coffee or martini and just chilled-out for a sec.  My husband is also my photographer so it made shooting in the city more flexible.  (we only argued 4 times and almost got ran over by a crazy cab driver twice…lol & yikes).

    .

This is what I wore on Day 1 for NYFW.  I wanted to dress edgier than my normal day to day…but still keep true to my style.  This top was pretty online…but then when I received it in the mail I was unsure.  It didn’t thrill me on the hanger.  But wait!  Once I put it on…I was so surprised at how it came to life.  The crotchet detailing is stunning!  I love so many details about this top.  So I guess what I’m trying to say is…you will most likely love to top even more once you try it on. (This top is available here, here and here)   I paired it over these Pleather high-waisted shorts.  I bought these from Zara about 3 years ago.  They look so real, great quality and look expensive.  But if I remember correctly I got them for under $40??  I’m linking a similar pair of shorts here.   And BTW these shoes get the gold metal award!  I wore them almost every day in NY.  They are not only super stylish & cute…but they are very comfy.  My only negative is it takes so long to put them on. (pretty annoying).  But once you’re laced up…enjoy!!   I will be wearing these a lot this Fall…
