Hello Real Life

My story, my struggles,
and my promise to you.

Hi, I’m Aylin

(pronounced eye-lin)

Don’t be fooled by all the pretty edited photos on my Instagram feed: Yes, I’m so thankful for all that we have, but as beautiful as our life looks, it can also be messy. We juggle work with kids a dog, a busy schedule and try to eat healthy before crashing each night. Everything on the coffee table is usually out of place… Not perfectly styled. It can look like a tornado blew through our home at times and it’s exhausting to keep things always tidy.

But there’s so much to be grateful for even in the mess, and I hope you appreciate the incredible parts of your life too when you scroll past my images.

People are complex and life is more than an Instagram highlight reel, which is why I always try to share the truth with you[—I actually use and love every product I recommend]. I take my job seriously, but still let my silly self shine. I’m in this to help you and connect with you… Because we could all use another girlfriend to rely on.

My recent struggles
led me to you…

What’s more important than all those fun facts is that as amazing as life is now, it didn’t come without struggle to get here.

I’m an Interior Designer by trade and practiced for years… Not counting all that time I spent rearranging my bedroom as a 6 year old… And fashion is my second love. Before becoming a full-time mom, I was that person in the office who wore a different outfit everyday like a walking “LikeToKnowIt” link. I loved choosing what to wear each day and felt so grateful when coworkers shared they bought something I recommended.

But my favorite job has always been raising my 2 kids. I’m so beyond blessed to be their mom and love my littles more than anything! The challenge was that through giving all my energy to caring for them, I lost myself. Fast forward years later, there were days when I felt depressed. That depression turned into guilt because when I looked around, I saw everything I always dreamed of, but felt so sad. I was lost in my thoughts and didn’t know why or how to get out.

My ultimate low point hit when I passed by the mirror one day. I saw my reflection and couldn’t help but cry… I didn’t recognize who was looking back at me.

i had to do something…

The only way to go was up, so I got to work. Change didn’t happen overnight, but the process motivated me to start a blog, and this creative outlet helped me find myself again. My readers inspired me to keep going. I’m a better mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend thanks to you. I don’t have many regrets in life, but if I were to go back in time, I wouldn’t let go of every creative outlet after becoming a mom. Everyone has a story and I share mine in hopes that you feel like you’re not alone. You’re part of something real. And even though this blog started as my creative outlet, it’s not about me or even material items: The purpose of Stylin by Aylin is to help others.

I hope in some way my blog inspires you.

I’m so thankful for you…

Stylin by Aylin is a place for all things fashion, home, and beauty. It’s about getting inspired, but practicing gratitude for the messy parts of real life too. I promise to only share & recommend things that I truly love, because your trust is everything to me.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for following along.
