BAR CART STYLING TIPS

Happy Christmas Eve friends! I can’t believe Christmas is already tomorrow! Are you ready?! I am still wrapping last minute gifts but am so excited to have a few days with the whole family. We love to entertain, play games and watch Christmas movies. Because we host a lot, I find it helpful to have a bar cart. I love to decorate it depending on the event and season. There is no right or wrong way to design your cart but… there are a few styling tips that I would love to share.

The first step is choosing your actual cart if you don’t already have one. They come in all shapes, sizes and colors. I would suggest getting one that fits your home aesthetic so it will look nice no matter where you put it. Home Depot has some really great Bar Cart options! When it comes to designing your cart decor I suggest to choose a theme. Whether it is for a birthday, a holiday or just a Sunday brunch there is always a way to give it a polished sophisticated look. Also, you can use it for so many things. Charcuterie trays, dessert bar, Iced tea station in the summer but obviously the cocktail cart for entertaining this holiday season.

I try to be mindful of everything I place on the cart. You want it to be pretty but also functional. Try adding napkins and straws along with a shaker, bottle opener and jigger or shot glass. Maybe a pretty ice bucket and some stir sticks. Then of course the actual items you are going to need to mix your drink. Plus add something green and something pretty! Make sure not to over load your cart. These additional items work best when you have a 3 tier tray. You don’t want it to be cluttered.

I went with a neutral theme to fit my home aesthetic. I chose to use eucalyptus leaves for styling. You can use fresh or fake. Can you guess what I used? If you guessed fake then you’d be right! I found this gorgeous vase at The Home Depot (online) which made styling my favorite flowers so easy. I love the texture. Using fresh flowers makes such a big difference because it adds so much to the over all aesthetic. Here I chose white roses but you can use any that you love. Another fun and fresh idea is to add a small bowl of fresh lemons or limes. Both pretty and functional.

When styling your bar cart think about layering. I love adding in a holiday candle that smells amazing. It adds in another layer,  warmth and a cozy feel. It is the quickest way to add to the ambiance. Also, I like to add cheese boards underneath the stemware to add interest. When adding bottles I keep the prettiest ones on top. I also like to arrange multiple bottles of the exact same drink. This is not only a great way to give your cart a more cohesive, organized look…but also a great excuse to stock up on your favorite drinks!

One way to make your cart look more put together and cohesive is to use decanter bottles. If your wine or liquor bottles are too bulky or aren’t particularly attractive then one way to make everything look a little more put together is to use either a decanter set for your liquors or even just get a pretty wine decanter that you can have on the top shelf of your cart.

Thanks you for stopping by the blog today! I hope this gave you some ideas for entertaining this holiday season!

xx,

P.s. A big thank you to Home Depot for partnering on this post! Everything I share, as always, are my own thoughts and opinions.
