BEAUTY ON A BUDGET

Hi friends! I am writing to you today from beautiful Elk Rapids in Michigan. We are here for  a mini family reunion since the littles are out of school.  There are 18 of us staying at a Lake House …it’s so pretty here!   So…since I was going to be traveling here I ran to Walmart to grab a few necessities.  While packing up my makeup/skincare and while deciding what to take I thought I’d share a post to show you what beauty essentials I bought. Sometimes our skincare and makeup routines can start to get really expensive. Which is why I wanted to share with you the pieces that are tried and true and super budget friendly. Scroll down to take a look!

Cleansing Pads

I have been been using these clear complexion daily cleansing pads for the past 10 years. It’s such an easy way to wash your face. The pads are already pre-moistened. You just Rub all the make up off and wash it away. One side is textured to help exfoliate and the other side is smooth to help lift dirt and oil. These pads also have salicylic acid in them to help fight blemishes. It is such a time saver and helps get your skin extra clean.

Makeup Removing Wipes

You guys, these now come in travel size singles! How great are these!? So easy to just throw in your purse or carry-on and so, so perfect for travel. I love them. They help to dissolve all traces of dirt, oil and makeup on your skin and will even work on water proof mascara. These Wipes are a great option for a girl on the go.

Makeup Sponges

I am currently trying both of these different blending sponges. I love the different sizes that come in this pack of white ones. You can really get good blending for under eye and hairline area with the smaller sizes. These sponges are a great alternative to the popular $20 plus brand.

Beauty tip… Make sure you wet the sponges and squeeze them until they are damp before using to blend your foundation. This will give you a nicer finish and also wastes less product.

Cosmetics

Ok… real talk… If there’s only one beauty product I could use for the rest of my life it would be this Mascara! I have been using this mascara for decades and I love how it gives your lashes a full voluminous look. I’m guessing a lot of you girls have used it at one point or another and know what I’m talking about.  Another great product I’ve been using for years and years is Baby Lips Lip Balm. I love that it has SPF in it and I put this on as a base before I put on my lipgloss. Also I really like these two new colors of the lip plumping gloss by elf. I got it in Champagne and Pink Cosmo and both are really pretty! The price is amazing too! The other new item I picked up was this highlight pallet. The colors are so pretty and perfect for summer.

Makeup Brushes

These brushes are so nice. The Kabuki brush is the perfect travel brush do to it’s size.  I also really love using this kabuki for blush and bronzer application. These brushes are so, so soft. I like to use the Real Techniques Blend and Blur Foundation Makeup Brush for foundation it gives such a nice blurred smooth finish. Then I like to use the RT Expert Face Makeup Brush for contouring. I just love the results. Finally I love using the RT Ultra Plush Powder Makeup Brush for blush and setting powder application. It is actually meant for powders or mineral makeup. They give such a nice finish and they are so pretty in Rose Gold. I also got the eye combo for blending and crease which are both really great and you cant beat the price!

Makeup Bags

Full disclosure…I bought these particular makeup bags in store and can not find them online. But they are worth looking for if you ever are in Walmart. The brand is Sophia Joy. I linked a few others  here just in case you don’t want to go look in the store.  These bags are so great and I think they look really high end. They hold so much and offer several compartments to keep all of your beauty products organized.

I hope this helps you save some money and find a few new budget friendly favorites!

See you next time!

xx,

P.s. A big thank you to Walmart for partnering on this post! Everything I share, as always, are my own thoughts and opinions.
