MAKING YOUR HOUSE A HOME

Hi friends! I have been getting a lot of questions about home decor and the pieces I use to help turn my house into a home.  I thought it would be really fun to share my process and thoughts on decorating and creating beautiful, calming, and functional spaces for my family.  I am constantly updating and changing my rooms around. I like to add small things to give any room a quick facelift especially between seasons.  I added a few items below from some of my favorite stores to help you on your home decorating journey!

My Favorite Home Accessories

I gathered a few items that I am really loving right now. I believe that the best way to update a room and make it feel cozy that is also budget friendly is by adding textured pillows and soft blankets or rich fabrics like this velvet chair. You can add personality with small items that you can move around to different spaces easily like candles and beautiful budget friendly vases.  One of the things I don’t mind spending a little more money on are unique light fixtures. One reason is because they are permanent fixtures that aren’t subject to wear and tear. The second is that it can make such a statement and difference in the over all look of a room. There are so many out there at all different price points and there is always a sale happening somewhere.

Tips & Tricks

It should come as no surprise that I love a neutral color pallet. Not only is it bright and fresh but it makes it so easy to change up with a pop of color or transition your home for the holidays.  I always follow 2 rules… one rule is don’t bring a piece home unless you love it.  The second is it must be cozy! I have filled so many spaces in my home with beautiful textured pillows and the softest blankets…perfect for snuggling up in. And an added bonus is they help protect my white couches from the kiddos and they are washable! Also, I try to find really fun unique pieces to help elevate a space. Also, try and repurpose or refurbish items you already have. Sometimes giving something you already own a second life makes a huge difference.
