Hi girls! I’m so excited to share today’s post with you. Other than being one of the easiest ways to get dressed in the morning…dressing Monochromatically can also be very flattering to ones figure. It magically elongates your silhouette to give the illusion that you are taller than you actually are. A monochromatic outfit consists of pieces all in one color…and Today I’m teaming up with Abercrombie and Fitch to share my TIPS on successfully dressing in this style!

1. Wear multiple “LAYERS” of the same color to add depth and dimension to your outfit. I added layers over this comfy basic white Tee and tucked it in too…creating a more layered look. The cardigan was the perfect top layer and can be worn 3 different ways. Buttoned up, like a Cape (over the shoulders) or as a cardigan.

2. Find a “COLOR” that compliments you best. You want to make sure it not only looks great against your skin tone and hair…but you feel confident and comfortable too. My personal favorites are all black, whites, creams and greys.

3. This TIP IS very important! “TEXTURE”... Make sure you mix textures within your monochromatic outfit! By doing so you create visual interest, depth, and dimension. If every piece is the same material/texture your look will be more one-dimensional and sorta dull. For today’s look I paired a basic Tee with a soft knitted cardigan and textured jeans!

4. “BALANCE” … This is one of the secret ingredients to a winning look. If you’re wearing a billowy top don’t forget to pair it with more refined/ or fitted bottoms. This tip is best achieved by trying on the items and playing around with different shoes, bags, tops, bottoms…etc. I will usually take a photo with my iPhone of a few different options. Then I toggle back and forth until I find the look/Balance that feels best.
5. This is also a great way to dress if you would like to “HIGHLIGHT” your favorite bag, statement jewelry, or your new shoes. Have your highlighted accessory be a different color so it will really POP! Think an all black outfit with bright colored pumps. Or a head to toe cream outfit with a black handbag. I Love it!
6. In reality there are “NO” set rules. These Tips are just guidelines and the way I’ve been achieving this look. Plus it’s fun to break rules now and then…lol.
