With holiday parties, work events and other fun celebrations on the horizon…a lot of us are thinking “what to wear??”. I love fashion this time of year because you can get away dressing up a bit more…but of course get to still be comfy and cozy. I also tend to experiment more with my makeup around the holidays too…and did so here with some new fun palettes! Today I am so excited to be teaming up with Nordstrom to share a holiday glam makeup look! I’ll also be sharing a few holiday dresses I’ve been swooning over and some of my favorite Beauty Gift sets under $50! Perfect for gift giving and to get ahead of the holiday rush. Lot’s of fun stuff in today’s post so thank you so much for being here! xx
NAKED 2 Palette by Urban Decay
I am so excited about this NAKED 2 eyeshadow palette from Nordstrom! The mixture of matte and shimmer eyeshadows are perfect for the holidays especially if you want to dress things up a bit more than usual. First, I used the colors FOXY and BOOTY CALL as a base coat on my eyelids. Next, I used SNAKEBITE and PISTOL in my crease for a little bit more of a smoky look. Then, I used BUSTED and BLACKOUT as more of an eyeliner to line the shadow on my lid for a more evening look. Finally, I finished up my eyes with using HALF BAKED and CHOPPER to blend the colors in the center of my lids.
Photo Finish Foundation Primer by Smashbox
This photo finish primer by Smashbox that I just ordered from Nordstrom is perfect for the holidays! It is a very light weight clear gel that makes your skin smoother before applying your foundation. The best part is that it blurs out blemishes and was developed to help makeup look better and last longer!
Wet/Dry Even Skin Brush by Trish McEvoy
Foundation Buff Brush by Clinique
I just ordered this Foundation Buff Brush by Clinique to see how it compared to my all time favorite Wet/Dry Even Skin Brush by Trish McEvoy and I have to say…. although they are both great brushes I am going to stick to using my favorite. Even though the Trish McEvoy is a little on the pricier side it is definitely worth the investment. The brush is handmade with the softest, highest-quality synthetic hair. Whether you are applying your foundation, concealer, or just basic moisturizer the brush evenly distributes the make-up perfectly. A smaller point at the end of the brush conforms to curves and small areas on your face for a flawless look.
Shimmer Blush by BOBBI BROWN
This shimmering powder blush is the perfect final touch for a special occasion make up look, the slight sparkles give my cheeks a glowing pop of color that is just right.
DRESS: wearing the size 2. Color: pink multi. This dress is stunning. It runs true to size, however I found the straps to be a little bit long. I ended up not getting them altered but could probably take the straps up about an inch. The sequins are actually colors of silver, pink, and camel. It’s a show stopper dress and is perfect for a fancy holiday party and especially would be perfect for NYE!!
ACCESSORIES: Accessorizing a dress like this can be tricky. I went back and forth a couple of times but ended up with “less is more”. I took off my necklaces and swapped them for these gorgeous statement earrings. I was worried they would be too much…but considering the occasion they worked fine. Then a watch, a simple cocktail ring, and very sleek simple high heel shoes to finish off the look.
HOLIDAY BEAUTY GIFT SETS UNDER $50
I love gifting beauty gift sets! For one I get to share some of my favorite brands and products with my friends. Another is the value. It’s always nice to save some extra money especially around the holidays. And third I LOVE the size! Most are airport security line approved…and work great for travel! It’s also a great way to try out some new products and brands for yourself without being so committed to a large amount.
See below for some of my favorite beauty products.
