HOW TO FAKE A GOOD NIGHT'S REST

Hi girls!  I hope you are all having a good week so far and getting plenty of beauty sleep! If you’re like me and don’t always get a full 8 hours of sleep all the time, this post is for you! And I’ll be honest…I’ve been in a really bad habit lately of going to bed way too late.  I either fall asleep in my kids rooms while reading them a book or I’ll fall asleep on the sofa watching TV with the hubs.  After I get up (from my mini power nap-lol)  I catch a second wind and then stay up way too late.  I do love those late hours in the night because I can get stuff done without getting interrupted.  With all this said, I don’t get enough sleep most nights…which leaves me feeling and (even worse), looking extra tired.   I know that the solution is to force myself to go to bed earlier, but sometimes that is just not realistic.   I’ve been on a mission lately to find a way to fake a good nights rest!   See below….

Faking a good night’s rest….

My trick is all about the eyes!  And I have 2 magical products that have totally helped make my eyes look less tired.  Are they still tired…yes.  But it helps when passing the mirror or washing your hands in the bathroom to see a more awake look …even if it’s fake.lol.

These 2 products below are GAMECHANGERS.  I apply my YSL Touche Éclat Radiant Touch .  I know that it’s a little bit of a splurge for a concealer but trust me when I say it truly works like magic.  (I’ve been using this product for over 8 years).  I always put it under my eyes to cover any dark circles and wherever else I feel like brightening up. I like to use it above my eye just below my eyebrow as a highlighter as well.  Whenever I put it on it always looks incredibly smooth and never cakey.  After it is applied, my eyes looks so much brighter, smoother, more refreshed & awake.

Now onto the eye lids, I use my YSL Bold Felt Tip Eyeliner Pen to make my eyes look more awake.  This eyeliner pen is amazing because it is so precise! Sometimes it can be hard to get a straight line on top of your eyelid if you don’t have a steady hand, but this pen makes it so easy.  It’s also easy to clean up with a q-tip if you need to correct your line.  P.s. For the maximum awake effect:  Apply this eyeliner on the top lid only.  You can flare out the ends for a more dramatic cat eye look which also awakens the look of the eye.

BTW: I think primers are a very important step in looking refreshed!  They hide pores, and prep skin for the rest of your makeup routine.   I use this Primer before foundation.  This primer is amazing because it leaves my skin not only feeling super soft but also gives it a slight glow.

Now for the LIPS

I use this Plumping Lip Balm to add a little something extra.  This color is super neutral…which I love.  Also, this is one of the cutest lip stick cases…check out the mini heart!  This would make such a cute VALENTINE’S DAY GIFT !  (FYI I am wearing the color Gold in Fury for reference)

Last but certainly not least….

I love using a setting spray to keep my makeup looking fresh for the whole day! This spray is really amazing because it hydrates your skin & holds your make up in place. I also noticed that it gives my skin a hydrated-dewy look. I also like to spray it again in the afternoon.  It’s a nice, quick and easy way to refresh your makeup and add quick moisture.   And it’s a good way to wake your face up with a cool spritz…lol.

So if you’re like me and don’t get 8 hours of zzzz’s a night, I hope this post will help you!

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

xx,
