TIPS ON OVERCOMING THE SUMMER BLUES

It has been a crazy week with the kids going back to school and all. I feel like it was yesterday that they got out for the summer. It’s true what they say…”time flies when you’re having fun”.  We made so many fun and happy memories this summer. I hope you and your families did too! The older they get the faster time goes by and before I know it they will be all grown up! That is why it is so important to slow down when you can and be in the moment and make awesome memories. Now that schools back, especially after having a fun summer it’s normal to get the “Sunday scaries” or the “summer blues”.  So I wanted to share a few TIPS we’ve been implementing  so we can still have fun & make this school year a positive, exciting one.

20 MINUTE RULE

No matter how busy our days get try to carve out at least 20 minutes of  something that’s FUN!   Whether it’s making s’mores in the fireplace, playing a round of UNO, reading a book together or even just going on a walk.  Having a routine and these fun “Summer-ish” activities & little things to look forward to everyday help so much!  The hubby and I decided to surprise the kiddos after their first day of school with s’mores & family game night after dinner, HW & showers. We all cozied up and talked about their first day of school. We got to hear all of the fun stories like the friends they made and all about their new teachers. It’s nice celebrating all of the moments especially in a memorable way.

G A M E S

We love playing board games! It is such a fun inexpensive thing to do with the kids.

Especially when you want to put your electronics away and disconnect.

I love that Walmart is a one stop shop. Not only was I able to pick up some groceries that we needed and get items for S’mores but I was able to grab a few new school outfits too! They have so many cute things to choose from. Also, all of the pajamas we are all wearing here are from there. I couldn’t resist since they were such a great affordable price. The best part was only having to go to one store it allowed me to spend more time with the family instead of running errands. They even have a drive up pick-up service.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Remember small memories like this can be something you remember for years to come.

xx,

P.s. A big thank you to Walmart for partnering on this post! Everything I share, as always, are my own thoughts and opinions.
