WORKOUT STYLE WITH NORDSTROM

I’m always more motivated to workout when I have cute workout clothes to wear.   And I’ll be honest, most of my “active wear” purchases are not even for working out. But more for either lounging at home, running after the kids or for running errands.  And if I happen to make it on the elliptical at some point of the day…well then I’ll take that as a bonus.

 

Today I’m so excited to be teaming up with Nordstrom to share 2 different Active wear looks, what I do to stay in shape and my secret tip to staying hydrated!

 

These leggings are not only super flattering, but I love the color blocking!

Because of the vertical stripes it has a slimming effect.

I paired it here with a white long sleeve top, comfy sneakers and dressed it up with oversized sunnies and one of my favorite handbags.  Nordstrom also has a great selection of gym bags, water bottles and other activewear accessories.  That’s why I love shopping online at Nordstrom.com so much!  One stop shop and their customer service is always so helpful.  Plus I love the speedy shipping and free return labels just in case something doesn’t work out.


These leggings run true to size.  I’m wearing the size xs here.  fyi…they are cropped.  I’m 5-7″



WORKOUT ROUTINE

I’ll be honest I don’t have a steady routine.  But I do try to move everyday.  I recently cancelled my gym membership and we bought an elliptical.   I try to use it 3-4 times a week for 20-30 minutes.  Having headphones on helps a lot.  I will either listen to motivating podcasts or up-beat stations on Pandora.  Some of my workout stations are:  (get ready they are super random).  Club Dance, House Music United, Jay-Z, Justin Timberlake, Nick Jonas, Paperboy,  Workout Radio.   Also I’ve been scheduling out my workouts a week ahead.    I recently bought this weekly desktop planner (here)….it has helped a lot!!

HYDRATION

I’m always trying to stay more hydrated.  Plain water sometimes gets super boring to me.  One thing that’s really been helping me is adding just a splash of juice to my tumbler of water.  I’ve been loving the cherry juice from Trader Joes.  A little goes a long way, so just add a little splash.  I also been using a daily planner… and it has a section where you can cross off every glass of water you’ve had for the day.  It’s been so helpful and scary at the same time.  Scary in the sense that I was actually conscious of how little water I was really drinking.

LOOK #2

 

This is more of an athlesuire look.  You could technically wear it for working out…but I swapped my running shoes for flip flops to give it a more laid back casual vibe.  This sweatshirt is a really pretty color.  It is naturally cropped so I sized up one to get a little extra length.
